Institutional energy and MEP infrastructure
Program forecasting, reconciliation, change controls, cash flow, and executive reporting across a large multi-year capital portfolio.
ABOUT CODY PLANTE

I work at the intersection of construction, finance, infrastructure, and strategy. That usually means the space between the budget, the schedule, the invoices, procurement, and the field.
The work is simple to describe and difficult to do well: understand what changed, why it changed, what it means, and what decision comes next.
THE PATH HERE
Before institutional construction and mission-critical infrastructure, I worked closer to the human side of infrastructure, including village-scale renewable energy work in Africa.
That experience shaped how I think about planning. It is not theoretical. The work has to be practical, fundable, and useful to the people depending on it.
I later spent years managing research operations across multiple universities, laboratories, grants, and reporting requirements. It taught me how complex institutions actually work: many smart people, different incentives, incomplete information, and no shortage of spreadsheets.
Capital program controls brought those parts of my background together. I tend to work best between groups: project managers, engineers, finance, executives, vendors, and the field. The budget may say one thing while the schedule says another. Procurement may change the order of operations. The field often sees the issue before the dashboard does. I bring those pieces into one view so the decision is based on the same reality.
I care about the quality of the number, but the number is not the end product. The end product is a better decision.
EXPERIENCE AT A GLANCE
The detailed examples now live on the Work page. This page stays focused on the path, perspective, and values behind the work.
Program forecasting, reconciliation, change controls, cash flow, and executive reporting across a large multi-year capital portfolio.
Program governance, funding accountability, and coordination across a distributed research consortium spanning four institutions.
Cost planning, field verification, compliance reporting, and scope documentation across energy projects in Kenya, India, and Vermont.
