SELECTED EXPERIENCE

Controls built inside complex programs, not beside them.

This page summarizes my experience at a high level. It leaves out nonpublic employer, partner, and project details.

PlanteAhead is an independent personal writing and professional portfolio project. It does not offer consulting or other services.

01

Make the source of truth explicit.

Budgets, commitments, actuals, forecasts, schedule milestones, and changes need defined ownership and a repeatable reconciliation process.

02

Explain movement, not just status.

Leadership needs to see what changed, the cause, the consequence, and the decision required next.

03

Connect projects to the program.

The value of project detail is the ability to understand portfolio cash flow, dependencies, risk concentration, and the larger outcome.

INSTITUTIONAL ENERGY AND MEP INFRASTRUCTURE

Turning project records into a program operating picture.

A complex, multi-year institutional capital portfolio spanning energy, utilities, and building systems.

The operating problem

Project information lived across financial systems, project records, schedules, approvals, and individual forecasts. Leadership needed a current program view without losing the detail behind the number.

My work

Built forecasting, cash-flow, reconciliation, escalation, change-control, and executive-reporting frameworks that connected project-level information to program decisions.

What it demonstrates

Institutional capital planning, construction finance, portfolio controls, and the ability to translate technical movement into clear executive information.

MULTI-INSTITUTION RESEARCH OPERATIONS

Managing distributed work without losing accountability.

A National Science Foundation consortium involving 12 research laboratories across four institutions, complex grant requirements, and shared program outcomes.

The operating problem

Independent teams, different institutions, shared funding, and a long performance horizon created the same challenge found in capital programs: one outcome supported by many owners of the work.

My work

Managed reporting, coordination, funding requirements, shared milestones, and operating cadence. The consortium produced 129 publications and $17.6 million in downstream grant funding.

What it demonstrates

Program governance, distributed-team coordination, grant compliance, and the discipline required to keep complex institutional work moving.

INTERNATIONAL ENERGY INFRASTRUCTURE

Keeping financial reporting connected to field reality.

Renewable energy infrastructure work across Kenya, India, and Vermont, including a EUR 474,000 Nordic Development Fund program.

The operating problem

Remote field conditions, multiple partners, donor requirements, technical progress, and spend compliance had to remain connected across geography and time zones.

My work

Managed cost planning, budget controls, financial reporting, field verification, scope changes, and progress documentation across international sites.

What it demonstrates

Practical infrastructure delivery, field verification, funding accountability, and the ability to work between technical teams and financial stakeholders.
